The Tale of Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, The battle is between two wolves inside us all."
"One is Evil."
"It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."
"The other is Good."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

The Gift of Life
I just wanted to thank you all for your hospitality… thank you all for what you have given me. Two years ago, you handed me my life back, and this year you handed back the life of a loved one. Not only have you all twice given me the gift of life, but you have all given me a whole new set of role models and heroes.
I was very surprised as you are the ones who did all the work and it is I who owe you. Thank you for the beautiful pin. I am framing it and putting it on the wall.
Thank you all again, Del

Courage to Change - A True Healing Experience
Judy has helped my line of thinking... getting to know her has given me a new outlook. Ross has helped me with my recovery. He is open and honest. The nurse is a tremendous nurse. Her talent for healing people is the best part of this program. The Certified Massage therapist (CMT) has brought relief to my recovery with such a happy and good outlook. Her massages have helped my broken left shoulder. She has helped me with my pain much more than pills do.

Refreshing and Calming Experience
This has been the most refreshing and calming place I can ever remember. It is exactly what I needed, especially after 7-8 years of the ups and downs (mostly downs) of alcohol addiction. Compared to all the other rehabs, half way houses, etc. I've been to - The Courage to Change Ranch has them all beat - head over heels - in every respect.
Some of the things I loved best about my stay were:
- Friendly, welcoming family atmosphere,
- Relaxed way of life unlike other recovery places I've been where there are stringent time frames and strict rules. It was wonderful to be treated as part of a family. I was not looked down upon due to my disease of alcoholism.
- I appreciated not having to rush from one class or activity to another and to be allowed to set our own pace for walks, reading, chores and chats with everyone here.
- Having the cats and horses was the best therapy for me since I do love animals. Wish I could be here when you get the goats and when the colts are born. How perfect that would be to experience in recovery.
- The spiritual feelings and teachings I received here during my stay were very special to me and definitely renewed and strengthened my hopes, dreams and goals for the future.
Thanks once again for the many blessings of you and this wonderful place.

A Wonderful Alternative to Traditional Programs
My name is Ms. M. and I am writing this letter on behalf of Judith Miller and the Courage to Change Ranch. Judy and her people are the best thing that ever happened to me.
I had tried so many times to get sober and stay sober to no avail. In my deepest drunkest moment on April 13th I made a phone call to Judith and she dropped everything to come and get me. From that moment on things started to turn around for me.
Through her program and a combination of mind, body and spiritual repair I knew at the time this was exactly what I had been looking for.
She and several others have instituted a program that literally changed my world.
Please consider this program as a wonderful alternative to the ones that are traditional. I feel you would be very encouraged at the outcomes it has made on so many lives.
I speak and write from my own personal experiences.
I am now ready to enter a new and wonderful life thanks to her and the Courage to Change Ranch. I have finally found renewed hope that I didn't think existed prior to the program her.
Sincerely,
Ms. M.
I'll miss the peacefulness of the ranch-style setting
Dear Judy, Ross and Emily:
It's been great. I really appreciate all you've done for me. You really helped me see that I do have some good in me. It's been a long time since I felt like that. I'll miss the peacefulness and how much you made me feel like family. I will be back to ride the horses. I love you guys!

Tranqulity of Spirit
Thank you for giving me the Courage to Change! Tranquility of my spirt is what I want to find. I believe in myself for the first time. I know that I can't do it on my own, but I am not alone. God's hand has touched my heart and memories. For the first time in my life I do not have fear of tomorrow.
Your loving friend,
Mr. P.
Wonderful Place
Dear Courage to Change Ranch Staff:
I just wanted to say thanks for all the help you have given me. This is a wonderful place and I know you all help a lot of people here. I wish I had found this place sooner.
Love Mr. J.
Wonderful Program for Communication, Inner Reflection and Physical Activities
This is a commendation for your program at the Courage to Change Ranch of which our son, Mr. T. took part in. From what I have witnessed it is a wonderful program for communication, inner reflection and physical activities.
Since Mr. T. has returned from the ranch, I have seen a great difference in his personality. He spends time thinking things through in an effort to make the correct decisions on many aspects of life.
Thank you, Mrs. L.
Better Perspective on Life
My dad, Mr. T., was a resident at Courage to Change Ranch. I believe the ranch helped him very much because it is the first time in his life he is not drinking. And he has a better perspective on life and is making good decisions in life and is looking for a job.
Thank You For Giving Me My Dad Back,
Mr. J.
Having Fun Without Alcohol and Drugs
Being able to have fun and just enjoy life without alcohol or drugs is the best feeling in the world. I never knew that was possible, the ranch made it possible.
The ranch really saved my life.
Thank You Judith Miller.
Mr. T.
Courage to Change Saved My Life
My name is Mr. J. After being a functioning alcoholic for approximately twenty-five years I found myself unable to function in society any longer due to my addiction.
Having stopped drinking several time before I thought I could do it again if only for a while but his time I was unable to.
So I sought help after being referred to the courage to change ranch. I decided to try the amino acid program and after just two weeks I realized my cravings were diminishing.
Now I have five months sober and have no desire to drink after being drunk for nearly 25 years.
I truly believe the Courage to Change Ranch along with the amino acids and Judith Miller have changed my life.
Sincerely,
Mr. J.
